Hi Stijn, thanks for taking the time to talk to us today. What was the Gambia trip like?

It was an incredible honour for me to be part of this sports and business investor delegation. Sport means a lot to me and I’m very keen to share what sport has given me in my life and I’d like to think that I can be a good role model for young people, especially youngsters in The Gambia, who have to battle so much harder to success than European kids do.

When I finished being a professional cyclist, I took up academic study again and I’d like to show people that both education and sports are very important in life.

Was this your first trip to The Gambia?

Yes, and I must say I really fell in love with and with its people. Everywhere I looked there were smiling faces and it’s just such a beautiful place to be.

How did you get involved with Crypto888?

Tell us something about your personal life.

My family is a very important part of my life and although I have to travel a lot for my work, I always try to make time for us all to be together and take family holidays and so on. They came with me to The Gambia and we’ve also been to Marbella and the Costa Blanca in Spain in the last year. We also have two dogs, they’re border collies, which are a very intelligent breed, you know.

Do you have any hobbies?

I think you can safely say that cycling remains my No.1 hobby. I also like football, although I can’t say I support any particular team. Of course, when Belgium plays I support my national team!

What’s your favourite food?

I like many types of food and of course, like most Belgians I adore ‘frites with mayo’ (he laughed) but I have to say that pasta of any kind is my absolute all time favourite.

Who is your personal hero?

It has to be Lance Armstrong. His ability and persistence to make a come back after his illness is a real inspiration and he’s built a fantastic business network based on health information and products as well. He represents my guiding principles.

What are those?

 They are never give up, work your butt off and believe that life has no limits!
